Caithness Shelter Home
The only shelter program in Montgomery
County dedicated to serving children
and youth, Caithness Shelter Home is located on a sprawling acre of land in Silver Spring , Maryland .
Often compared to the triage of an emergency room, the professional staff
oversee the intake and services of up to 14 children at any time. The
vulnerable youth, who are often abused, runaways, or in the midst of family
crisis, can find respite and nurturing care in this long standing community
resource. The expansive program allows for individual, group and family
therapy, as well as recreational programming. The youth are given up to 60 days
to stabilize and prepare for the most appropriate transition of care
